Google Android Kill Switch via engadget

If anyone remembers the anger by many iphone users when someone found out there was a killswitch put into the phone, well, Google announced it is having the same thing for their phone coming out on Oct 22. At least Google, unlike the haters at Apple, actually told the public unlike the sneaky fruit company.

I just heard about this, I don't care too much about it.

Even more reason for me to despise apple and their products. At least Google has the nerve to state they are doing it upfront. It took a hacker to find it on the iphone. Plus with google being more "open" with the applications that can be created, it is understood the reason Google would do it.

yeah, I don't like the people I buy from to still have power over me. This is similar to Amazon deleting books from the Kindle without telling the people who had paid for it.

If I bought it it is my business! Not the company's unless I invite them.

I love Animal Farm! It is my favorite book, just above Green Eggs and Ham (seriously)! That makes absolutely no sense at all, that they would claim it was illegal. If you research online, Animal Farm is "public domain" now. In fact, you can read the whole book here! How strange it is how these things turn out.

Reading up on the Amazon issue you ran across, it appears they are going to work to prevent this from happening. As to how that goes, well...
