I am sitting here watching Sin City - again...I have easily watched it over 10 times. And it's not that I like the movie itself THAT much (it is a good movie, just not a favorite or anything). I like watching it. I love the visual effects - the movie done in black and white with very carefully placed bright, rich color splashed here and there.

Hero (Ying xiong in Japan, where the movie is from) was a beautiful movie to watch. A few different storylines in that movie, and each one has a different color scheme - it was very well done and absolutely gorgeous to watch. I keep searching for it on directv, but it is never there. I think we are just going to have to rent it. I would really like to watch that one again soon.

Madd suggested the other day that I go get The Fifth Element in HD (that is one of my favorite movies) - and I think it will be so awesome to watch in HD.

Any other movies that are good to watch for the visuals, if nothing else?

I have never watched one whole Rocky movie. There are a lot of movies it seems that almost everyone else I know has seen that I haven't.

Rocky movies are the BEST. If Sly Stallone knew I existed I'm SURE he would leave his wife for me. although I'm not sure how I feel about being married to someone older than my dad, but I'm sure once I got into all that $$$ his age wouldn't even cross my mind.

Rockie movies are NOT movies for VISUAL EFFECTS. If you want visual effect movies like Sin City, first that comes to mind is Pleasentville.

I got it when she mentioned the Rocky movies. I did not question if she knew what I was saying in the original post. Damn, give the woman a little credit!

And yes! I forgot Pleasantville - another great one for visual effects - I really enjoyed that one. And it is a great commentary on issues in our country. We had to watch it in a Sexism and Racism in America class that I took.

I was not talking to you, so... no, no credit!
